The high-tech pressure mat captures 100 pressure images per seconds, it allows us to examine the plantar pressure through your feet throughout the gait cycle. Picking up at high areas of pressures and looking at how the foot loads throughout the gait cycle with the centre of pressure line. We can examine barefoot or with footwear. The mat allows us to help you though the rehabilitation process and high light improvements, helping you to take control of your injury.
The Pressure mat has 3 types of analysis:
The pressure mat will also allow us to examine your balance (Proprioception) when standing, this is reduced at the time of injury and once improved has been scientifically proven to reduce the risk of further injury. You can visually see the proprioception improve as you progress.
The pressure mat will show how you load your feet in a static stance, looking at the pressure distribution between the left and right foot and then the forefoot and rear foot. This is useful in looking at leg length discrepancies and particular high area of pressure, which maybe a regular site of corns or callus formation.
The dynamic scan looks at you walking and how the foot loads whilst walking, looking at timings and comparing left to right. Do you have an early heel lift? Are you loading pronating later on one foot compared to another? Is there increased pressure in a particular area of the foot?
We can look at the effect of taping and padding to the foot on the dynamic pressures.
